Spanish Golden Visa

In September 2013, the Spanish Government passed a law to encourage foreigners to invest for residency purposes. The Spanish Golden Visa scheme allows residency for anyone investing:

  1. Over 500.000 Euros in a property in Spain. The payment must be made in full and free of any charge up to the 500.000 Euros. The investment can be made by an individual or through a company that is 100% owned by an individual.
  2. Over 1.000.000 Euros in shares or having a bank deposit in Spain.
  3. Over 2.000.000 Euros in Spanish Public Debt. 

The residency permit will be first issued as a visa that lasts 2 years. Afterwards, the authorization can be applied for 5 more years.

BENEFITS

  1. The investor can also apply for the residence permit of their relatives (spouse and dependent family members).
  2. The Golden Visa grants to all holders the right to reside and work in Spain, and to travel to other Schengen Countries.
  3. The awarding of this residence permit does not require actual residence in Spain. The only requirement is to visit Spain once during the period of residence. 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Make the investment
  2. Not to be an European Citizen.
  3. To be of legal age.
  4. Not having criminal records in the last 5 years.
  5. To have medical assistance in Spain.
  6. To have financial means.
